Twitter break as a form of sacrifice

A lot of my friends are texting me why I’m not updating my personal account (@), while I’m still tweeting on my other account (@), which posts inspirational quotes. Well, let me first give you a short background about my addiction. I started tweeting since 2009 and Twitter had been a part of my life for almost 3 years. I’ve asked the Lord to grant my wish for my Dad, but the sacrifice would be giving up Twitter for 6 days. Fortunately, God gave me favorable response. It may not be exactly what I’ve asked for, but still I’m very thankful to Him.

I never stopped tweeting positive quotes on my other account (@), because I think, no matter how difficult life is for me, it is my responsibility to motivate my followers the best way I can. The moment my followers re-tweet and like my tweets, it inspires me to keep up doing what I love – spreading positivity to the world.

Money can never buy breeding and class. And a person’s school won’t define his/her character.

Don’t underestimate the simple things. Sometimes, these ordinary stuff can also give us extraordinary happiness.

Everytime I found out that a person has taken advantage of me, I just keep in mind that I was able to help that person in some way that he wants.

The Mega Experience
When I was a 2nd-year Nursing student, some of whom I considered friends exaggerated things and made false rumors about me, which provoked my professors to dislike me. However, there were some good clinical instructors who  secretly showed their support to me and advised me to transfer to another school. That’s what I did - it was the most depressing moment of my life. I was a consistent dean’s lister, class president, and one of the school hearthrobs (if I may say). It was like everything a student could ask for was suddenly taken away.
One day, while I was still depressed and crying because of what happened, I watched TV and while I was browsing for something interesting, I saw “Butuing Walang Ningning” of Ms. Sharon Cuneta. I enjoyed watching it because it’s about the story of a poor little girl, who dreamed and achieved. Although what happened to me was not exactly the same with that of the movie, what struck me to move on with my life was the famous line of Dorina Pineda, “Hindi lang kita papantayan, lalagpasan pa kita”. When I heard it, I was inspired to cheer up, move on, and do my best to achieve great things.
I was able to finish college, passed the board exams with flying colors- making me the highest among our batch in school- and was able to earn  my master’s degree, making me the first to finish in our batch. And the good thing about it was, I had also forgiven those students and teachers who did me wrong. Just like what Dorina did to Lavinia in the movie.
So when Senator Kiko Pangilinan announced on Twitter that the Megastar, has already a Twitter account, I grabbed that opportunity to get close to her. Using my account “YesToPositivity”, I advised her to follow me, so that I could send her positive quotes everyday, because I know she needs some motivation since she just transferred to TV5. Fortunately, she followed me back! I was shocked and elated at that time. I sent a Direct Message to thank her, told her who am I, and even without asking further, she even followed my personnal account. It was like I won a million jackpot in the lottery! I was jumping off my bed and everbody in the house thought that my Canada Visa that I’ve been waiting for so long, came already. From then on, our closeness on Twitter started.
When I heard that there will be a taping for the Megastar’s new show, I texted the audience coordinator, Wiz Vargas, 5 times, so I can assure myself of a slot. Luckily, I got one! I also gained new friends, some of whom are members of her fans club, and some are just ordinary people who are also in love with the Megastar. So the big day came- when she went out from the van to go to the studio, that’s the first time I saw her in the flesh. She’s so pretty even without make up. Her aura was very positive, maybe because of her innate kindness.
The moment she got near me, I showed her the twitter profile pic of my 2 accounts in excitement. If I’m not mistaken, she said in with joy, “Awww! Carlo, you’re as cute as your name!” Some even said the Megastar said, “Carlo, you’re more cute in person.” Then she kissed and hugged me, and even pinched my right cheek. Whatever it was, she said I’m cute! Hahaha, I’ve been tallying how many times she called me as such, and as of now, she said it 7 times already!
I’ve been a studio audience in different shows and various networks, but the Megastar is the only one who showed genuine concern to her audience. She would say, “Kamusta na kayo?”,”Gutom na ba kayo?”, “Happy?”, “Sorry for waiting… (and she will explain the reasonfor it)”, “Are you guys tired already?”, “Sorry, sandali nalang ito”. That’s the Megastar, very sensitive to the needs and feelings of other people. Her staff even gave us delish food to eat while on the show.
A lot of celebrities enjoy their fame for a short period of time. And my fearless forecast, would be, The Megastar, Ms. Sharon Cuneta, will continue to reign throughout the years because of her talent, hardwork, kindness, and humility. I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but all I can say is I’m already contented with what happened and one thing is for sure, I’m willing to fight for her and I’ll always be here for her, no matter what!

I believe that good things take time to be finally revealed. So, I’m still patiently waiting for what my faith and determination has to offer me.

There is always a reason

Last 2011, I was able to meet the OB Doctor who gave birth to me, as one of my dialysis patients. She was so proud of me and I thanked her so much for giving birth to me. This 2012, I was bitten by a dog. Worrying that I might get Rabies, I went to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) to have a vaccine. I wasnt expecting that Dr. Remigio Olveda, my godfather whom I haven’t seen in years, is the Medical Director of that hospital. I was so glad that I finally met him.

God really has beautiful plans in everything that happens to us. I became a dialysis nurse, so that I’d be able to meet the person who was instrumental in realizing my birth; I was also bitten by a dog, for me to see one of those people who witnessed my baptism into the Christian life.
